What is Consent Template & How Consents uploaded on DLT

Dear Customer,

This communication is further to our earlier communication dated 23^rd July 2021 regarding the registration of consent templates and uploading of the consent data on DLT. Copy of the earlier Communication is enclosed.

We urge you to take cognizance of the following points and do the needful activities at your end so that you do not face challenges while sending commercial communication to your customers once Consent Scrubbing goes live.
 

1. Consent Registration:

We had earlier intimated that as per the provisions of TRAI’s TCCCPR 2018, all Principal Entities (PEs) are required to declare and register the consents of their customers on the DLT portal of anyone Telecom Service Provider (TSP) with whom the PE is registered.

Accordingly, we had requested all the PEs to register their Consent Templates at the earliest. It was highlighted that subsequently, we will enable the Customers Consent data to upload features in the TSPs’ systems.

In this regard, kindly note that the customer consent data can be uploaded on the TSPs system from 18^th August 2021. Therefore, we again request all the PEs to kindly register their consent templates and start uploading their customer consent data from 18^th August 2021 in which the date of Consent shouldn’t be older than 6 months from the date of consent upload.

We request you to kindly refer to our enclosed earlier communication/advice regarding the actions that are required to be taken by all the PEs in this regard.

We would like to convey that in the absence of customer consent in the TSPs’ DLT system, the PEs shall not be able to send consent-based promotional/service explicit messages to their subscribers/customers who have blocked their related preference on DND.

Kindly note no further extension in timelines will be provided.

2. Charging for the Bulk Consent Upload: 

We would hereby like to convey that we will be charging the PEs as per the following slabs for the Bulk Consent upload:

3. Additional Terms and Reference: 

Kindly note that in case the Bulk consent is uploaded by PE till 22^nd August 2021, the same will be made life for scrubbing from 1^st September 2021, any subsequent upload i.e. after 22^nd August 2021 will be made live within 15 days from the date of upload.
